Music and Photos

Music. It has such an ability to create emotion and inspiration. Some of my favorite music right now are piano and violin pieces.  Below are two of my favorites at the moment::

-"Legend of the Falls" piano theme song (I know nothing about this movie, and have never seen it before, but the theme song is beautiful).

-"Expressions" by Helen Jane Long

Forming

When I wrote out "forming", I thought about the new year. How the new year--fresh and spread out ahead--is forming day by day.

I want this to be a year that I look back on and smile on.
Not because everything went perfect- because it won't. Or because everything went the way I thought it would- because then again, it won't.

No..I want this year to be different. I want to be challenged. Changed.
And, I don't want what I just wrote to be a feeling that lingers until the first month is over, but one that stays. That is my heart's desire throughout the whole year.  One that stays throughout the moment's when I am content and happy, and in the one's that it would be easier to forget the word challenge.

----

And, with that, let me say that I  am looking forward to the new year forming.  With it's moments that hold only what God knows.

"No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven."
~Philippians 3:13-14

May the new year be a year to remember. And may it be good. Very good.

Favorites

This fall I have a lot of favorites.  And by favorites I mean, things that I love.

The sunset view on the hill.

I have taken more than enough pictures of this view, but I never ever get sick of it.  It is always different, yet always the same. And aways beautiful.

Levi.

I know I am biased, but this child is wonderful.  I have yet to meet another five year old who likes coffee, sushi, and who could carry the tune to Amazing Grace perfectly at the age of two.  Like, I said, I am rather biased.

Two year olds, and small cups of Chik-fil-A ice cream.

I think this picture speaks pretty much for itself.  And, by the way, I have no idea how this made it to my favorites list, it isn't like it was cute to watch her devour it.

Favorite pictures.

The two pictures below are completely different, but they are both two of my favorite picture's that I have taken.

 One more.

Yet another one of the looks that the hill at sunset has to offer.  I think this look just might be one of my favorites.  But you never know... tomorrow's may blow away all of the others.  God is indeed an amazing Creator

(not sure why some of the pictures came out with the stripes on them...)

Finding the Beautiful

"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

.....

I started blogging in 2008.  It has always been the outlet for my inspiration.  At times the words came flowing, and I knew exactly what I was going to write. Other times I would go weeks without opening the 'new post' page.  In the past four months I have only published a hand full of posts'. And while during that time of not writing it felt odd, and not right.  But now?  Now I can see it. I can see why I needed to wait.  I have figured out that there are times that I don't need the words to come. I don't need to write. There will be times when the words won't come to me.  Sometimes there are times when no amount of words will be able to describe it.

When I blog from now on it will be out of inspiration. Not trying to post something just to have it out there, and wait for the feed back.  I have done that too many times and I don't get anything out of it.

But when I blog out of pure inspiration? That's when I enjoy it.
 .....

God created beauty for our enjoyment, and pleasure- I'm determined not to waste it. I hold a key to a door that God has given me... I am going to unlock it, and use whatever God has placed on the other side to inspire people, and bring glory to Him. There is so much in life just waiting to be discovered. So much.
In 2010 my family moved out of the state where I had always lived. Away from family, and away from all familiarity. For some that doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but for us it was. But now--looking back--it was one of the best things that has ever happened our family... and me.

I don't know what it in the future for my life... but He does.
I don't know where this road will lead our family... but He does.
.....

This blog is about my life, and the things that fill it.  I look forward to seeing what is coming next.
